Swedish Medical Center Senior Business Development Specialist - Stewardship and Strategic Development in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Senior Business Development Specialist (1.0FTE, Days) for Stewardship & Strategic Development at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

Working in collaboration with executive leaders and management team, the Senior Business Development Specialist leads efforts to develop and implement a variety of strategies and tactics designed to improve market share throughout the assigned network and/or service area.

In this position you will:

  • Develop and communicate an understanding of regional competitors and services and works with service groups to refine and update program development priorities in response,

  • Develop working relationships with physicians and assist in facilitating contact with community referral sources through a variety of mechanisms including personal visits, educational lectures, meetings and additional outreach opportunities both clinical and community based,

  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with referral sources, and serve as an information resource and contact point for referring physicians with SMC, SMG and Providence; this includes troubleshooting issues and working with the clinic directors to ensure patient issues are resolved,

  • Advise on the development of informational packets and service guides to support referrals and professional access to SMC services, including consultation and advice on web based referral information,

  • Work with Corporate Communications to develop and implement marketing campaigns, public relations and web-based initiatives,

  • Work closely with patient education to develop education materials, which align with the strategic plan and goals of the assigned network and/or service area

  • Cultivate community outreach opportunities, working with SMG/SMC business development group and outside groups.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, business, healthcare, education, or a related field

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license

  • Possession of the minimum (or greater) auto insurance coverage as mandated by the state of Washington

  • Knowledge and experience in the service line (e.g. oncology)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters Degree in Health or Business Administration

  • Five or more years of middle to senior level management experience coordinating community outreach and marketing health care services to physicians
